DUB Expands Advisory Board with Entrepreneur and Investor Veteran
VIENNA, Va., September 16, 2009 - DubMeNow, creator of the first application for exchanging business card information using a mobile phone, today announced Simeon Simeonov, CEO of FastIgnite, Inc., has joined other senior executives in the technology industry on its advisory board to provide guidance on a range of strategic business initiatives. "We're delighted to bring Sim onto our advisory board as he is a seasoned veteran in the technology industry, and brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the company," said Manoj Ramnani, founder and CEO, DubMeNow. "DUB is redefining the way people exchange contact information, and Sim's industry expertise compliments our widely respected and innovative group of advisory board members."
Sim has broad experience as both an entrepreneur and investor. Prior to founding FastIgnite, Sim spent seven years as technology partner at Polaris Venture Partners where he helped start four companies the firm invested in, most recently San Francisco-based Plinky (now ThingLabs). Prior to joining Polaris, Sim was vice president of emerging technologies and chief architect at Macromedia (now Adobe). Earlier, Sim was a founding member and chief architect at Allaire, one of the first large Internet platform companies. Sim has played a key role in more than twenty v1.0s and M&A and spinout transactions.
"The proliferation of social media and mobile devices has made it more difficult for everyone to manage contact information and initiate conversations using the right channels. I have many contacts and experienced this problem every day. DUB's unique technology makes the problem go away. I look forward to working with Manoj and the company to help DUB change the way we think about exchanging contact information," said Simeonov.
DUB recently launched its new Locate feature allowing BlackBerry and iPhone users to instantly exchange information during in-person meetings. When two people in physical proximity click the Locate button in the DUB application, DUB will prompt them to exchange contact information including links to their blog, Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and others. The contact information is saved directly to their address book and automatically updated when it changes.
